Default 38 Non Step TG Spin In?

1984 38' straight bottom, kevlar, has TG transom notch. Thinking of trying some 5's, not on boxes, spinning in. Looks like shaft will be 1/2" above bottom. Thinking it may let it get on plane a little easier and settle the nose down while running. But not sure if nose lift will be enough to work with the stern lift. Know all about the maneuverability. Anyone ever have any luck doing this?

You'll pick up a few MPH... but docking gets interesting. MY TG was spinning in when I got it. After a few years, I had the drives switched to spinning out. Top speed lost to not looking like an idiot while docking. LOL I didn't notice any difference in handling while on plane.....Just my 2 cents.

I'd check with Gary Kollofski. Sounds like you have his old boat.

He tried all kinds of different combinations on that boat.

kvogt thanks for the reply. Actually I speak with Gary almost weekly. He didn’t notice a difference in performance but did not like the way it behaves around docks and that was important for Gary. I ran another boat many years with this combo so I got used to it. But that boat wasn’t a Cig. Thought I reach out for some other opinions. Thanks Bob
