I just recently purchased a 353 Fastech. I'm currently upgrading the Stereo system and finding there is not much room to add more speakers and subs in the cockpit. Does anybody have ideas or pics of their boats upgraded system. What system did they go with. I'm thinking going wet sound. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

I have done somewhere between 175-200 boat stereo installs. I am currently working on 3 contenders. I have been the wet sounds, jl, fosgate, route. As for the best sound quality and price, skar audio is the way to go. I generally run 8 of their 6.5s or 8s in large boats. 4 in small boats. With 8 of their 8s you dont need a sub. They sound very nice, very loud, very clear.

This is a 27 open with 8 skar audio 6.5s. Great sound quality, great volume, using an rxm-t2 amp a little below half gain with a fusion head unit.

This is a 31 open with 8 skar audio 8s. Same rxm-t2 amp, gain maybe 5/8, similar fusion to the 27. All i can say about this one is hold your ears when we crank it up. The sql of this standing behind the console is like being in an amphitheatre. Deep bass, crystal clear mid and high. Probaby the best i have heard. Better than my 242 that has 4 8s and 4 6.5s(but they are fosgate, skar wasnt out out when i put it together)

I agree with you. Overboard for sure. The ones on the dash kind of seem pointless. There are so many on the sides that it has potential to be deafening already. The complexity of tuning I can absolutely imagine. They are in all sorts of different positions. I bet it sounds great when its tuned in though.
