I'm in the process of upgrading my transmissions to 72c. Actually, at the install point after fabbning new mounts. It was super tight getting the 454s out of my 30' panther before, and I know I have to pull the drives for reinstall. So I just got the first one off and noticed a torn up gasket as it came apart. I dont really feel like making 2 if I dont have to, I was thinking of using the Right Stuff from permatex. I've had awesome luck with this stuff on a lot of engines I've bnuilt, and I cant really see a reason not to use it instead of making a gasket. I figured I'd ask more knowledgeable people before I go ahead. The gasket im refering to is where the trs bolts to I believe the gimble? I

I barely got the engines out with the old 71 transmissions. With the 72c, I dont I dont see them going back in without pulling the drives. You may have much more space then me.
As for buying gaskets, why are you spewing bull****. I already said I can make the gasket. I dont need you wasting space telling me to buy a gasket. I see no reason to even make one these day personally these days unelss it has to do with a clearance issue. I'll just do it and let anyone in the future know how it works out.

You can do whatever you want, I’m sure it would work, but typically where a gasket is used and available... a gasket is used.
Liquid gasket is like a last minute, last resort backyard mechanic, kinda thing.
If I’m looking at something and I see rtv in all the wrong places it’s a huge red flag to pass on whatever it is.
