Looking for anyone who has or is running a 29 single over 100. This isn’t about horsepower. It’s about setup. Found a few old threads but nothing recent on this. Most didn’t really talk about set up.
if you have one or know someone who does curious on a few things.
Is it running a Rh or LH prop?
what is the prop shaft height?
what style prop?
does the boat have any hull mods such as blueprinting or strake changes?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I saw his boat. Boat is already in the 97-98 area. Just looking for anyone who’s been over 100. Saw a few in older threads. Didn’t know if any were still on the board to discuss. Obviously playing with setup is an option but for someone who’s already done that and found what’s optimal it would certainly help.

We had an 01 F1 29 with a 500efi in it that ran 87.1 at lake x. Prop shaft was at the highest they would allow in F1 in 2003 which I can’t remember off the top of my head. The boat ran best with a right hand bravo 1 prop.
When they allowed the sport master drives we lowered the engine 2” with the plans to put the shorty on it and bring the speed back up but never got the drive.
Hope this helps any, I know it’s not a ton of info, and another 13 mph would be almost a universe of difference in these boats.

it’s not mine. I have a 35. It’s a friends boat. He doesn’t do the interwebz much so I told him I’d try to find some setup info.

had a 1998 29ft with single 502 and bravo 1 with hydromotive. The thing barely got on plane, with tabs and trim down if there were more than 2 people in it. Once it got on plane, it would run 68mph, but it was built like a potato chip, just got tossed around and felt loose. I couldnt imagine going any faster without some dangerous results. I felt safer in a 22ft Donzi Classic and a 21ft Hustler, both of which went over 70mph.
