Default Engine hatch won't open

I have a 1999 formula 400 super sport and for the life of me I cannot get the engine at hatch to open any suggestions

Battery that runs those systems dead? You can crawl under the dash and find where the main power comes in and put a jumper box on it, or a lot of manufacturers have some "safety" way to open without power. Mine has four screws that are threaded in the top of the hatch that thread into the top bracket of the lift. Unscrew them and lift the hatch manually. Perhaps yours has some safety trick.

My hatch has a lift extension that gives me another 6" of lift that pivots in place when I manually lift the hatch. The pin that it pivots on locks in place, so I can unlock it and pull it out and lift the hatch the rest of the way manually.

Haha! Me too! Get one of those widgets that plug your charger in through the cigarette lighter (I think they're called "power ports" now!)
