When I called them early this year to discuss running the Ocean Cup Bahama Race and Back set for this past June, they were limiting the entry to just that one red boat. Then I asked about why not make multiple Classes for others to join. They said they were considering it to help reduce the cost. Then they announce they had about 5 boats interested in doing it, and it would be about $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 entry fee, to cover the expenses, final cost to be determined depending on how many teams register.
Maybe if this gains some popularity the cost will come down.

Records have been broken (not sure what they were).
Nigel Hook in his 48’ SilverHook ran 1 hour 19 minutes and 28 seconds.
Chris Reindl in his 24’ bat boat ran 1 hour 57 minutes and 40 seconds.
Watching the live feed the conditions looked pretty calm for the Pacific Ocean but it’s hard to tell from video.
