Which is better in real bay 2-3’ers with big boy wakes. Wife tired of getting beat up.

Sonic. But it’s the slower hull.

I owned a 26 Sonic. It’s only a 25’ hull; BUT they ride great compared to others size for size.

That said, a 28 Pantera is 28’ of boat. It’s tough to argue with length especially if considering this hull.

I just bought a Sonic 260. Boat rides great in the snot. Its also has a nice deep cockpit. So you feel secure. I've never ridden in a Pantera, but as Sydways said it is 28 ft. It should ride better in rough. But the cockpit is very shallow. Thats my 2 cents.

Haven't ridden in a Sonic but 28' is 28', it matters at this size. Pantera will handle chop well and is a pretty strong boat. If you can move up to a bigger boat the ride will be even better. And like Gary C said, there's no freeboard with a Pantera, very shallow cockpit.

Hard to go bigger and stay with a single. Twins are enticing but they come with a much higher maintenance cost

In true 2-3’s no 28’ boat on planet earth will be comfortable. Sure some boats ride better than others...but I’d temper your expectations.

if you want a smooth ride in true 2-3’s start looking at 38-42’s.

As much as I’d love a 38’ boat, I have no where to put it.

I believe there also is a big difference in cabin head room if that's important the Sonic has a taller cabin.
