Hello Cigarette 35 T/S owners and owners of comparable Hulls:
Today i want to bring up the question what props are the best for this hull in general,
not so much the question of what pitch is used because this is amongst other factors
a question of the mills used.
I want to focus on the following props and would like to ask anyones opinion on these
preferably through personal experience:
BRAVO ONE LAB
MAXIMUS SHORT TUBE 15.63 Diameter
HYDROMOTIVE P-5X 15.00 Diameter
My Playboy was powered with 500 EFI Mills with Bravo XR 1:1.5 Dual Water pickup no shortened Gearcase, nor stand of boxes.
Top Speed with more or less worn out motors was 78-79 MPH @ 4900 @ WOT.
Now the boat is repowered to brand-new 540 EFI DTS Mills with Bravo XR Sport (-2 Inch) 1:1.5 Dual Water pickup with ITS Transom.
Transom Cutout is in the exact factory position, the X Dim was not changed. (Except through the -2 Inch of the gear case since its the new XR Sport)
If i would decide for a new set of Bravo one Props i would probably decide for a 30" LAB instead of the 28" since the power upgrade is moderate.
Some people i have talked to say the 540 will maybe spin even the 32" to the limiter, not sure if this is true.
(Have not driven the boat with new power yet)
But i do not necessarily want to buy a set of bravo one because there a newer and maybe better designs today.
I am kindly asking for your opinions, hope to get some input.
If someone really knows how the bravo one LAB pitch translates to the OUT OF THE BOX MAXIMUS and HYDROMOTIVE 5 Blades
especially on this 35" Step Hull PLEASE let me know!!
Best regards,
BALTIC BOATER (owner of the blue and red playboy)

I cannot tell you what pitch to buy compared to a stock Bravo 1, but every time I have ran a Hydro P5x prop I've been impressed. For the money you cannot find a better deal. Ive ran the P5x against custom Maximus props that cost over 2x more, and usually the hydros run better. if you are running a stock Bravo 30, the. a P5x 27 would get you close.
I just ordered some P5x 35s for my 39, unfortunately I won't know how they work until spring.

Thank you for this valuable information!
If i go with P-5x i think i will need 29".
Given the power (1080HP) and more than 160 Newton Meters in total
over the 500 EFI`s the boat should hopefully go mid 80`s if not even
close to 87MPH. At least BAM Marine Speed calculator puts out these
numbers for the given data.
Hope to hear more opinions...

I just called them they say they need data from a testdrive with the new power.
I told them i will testdrive as soon as i can and forward the data. Also told them
i will testdrive with 30" Bravo LAB and that i would probably hit the rev limiters
easy but they said that don't matter because all they need to know is the propslip
i wouldn't matter if the data was gathered from a "under proped" test situation.
They said i many cases its one inch down from a bravo could be two, depending
on the slip.

I dont have any first hand experience, but from what Ive read, most 35 TS's are running the props you have listed. As a general rule of thumb, 5 blades will give you better cruise speed, and 4 blades better top end. I am a huge fan of the Playboy edition cigs. Sweet rerig setup btw. Post pics of your ride!!

The Bilge is almost ready. Still some work to do. Helm and Instruments are new and ready. Upholstery not ready yet and the hatch has to be modified to clear the higher headers. Still some work....
