Default revitalising gelcoat

Thought these 2 videos were great way to bring back oxidised fibreglass boat
Not sure whether presenter works for KBS coating or not
I may have to wait a while as looking to sand and then apply the paint onto hull so no need to worry about the oxidised look just yet

I cant speak for this stuff as Ive never used this brand but some 20yrs ago there was another product very similar to this. I had a 1986 scarab 2 at the time with the deck starting to oxidize so i figured id give it a try...figured the $40 at the time would be better then spending hundreds having the deck clear coated. Anyway i got the stuff and went to work....same process as above. While i was putting the "Clear" on the deck i kept saying that this stuff sure smells familiar and the stuff i got on my skin in a few spots felt familiar as well when it dried. When i was done it looked good i was happy...it lasted about 6months and had to be re-applied again, Well about a month after i did the boat i was at my parents house helping Mom with some cleaning and she like to wax her vinyl flooring. She gave me a bottle of Mop-n-glo and ill be damned if it wasn't the exact same stuff!!! And just to test my theory when it came time to re-apply the coating on the boat i ran out of the original stuff i finished it off with the mop-n-glo and it worked perfectly!
Again i cant comment on the KBS stuff, but if you are looking for an "easy" fix to oxidation without doing a ton of work wet sanding and buffing then save your money and buy the mop-n-glo and just be prepared to re-apply it every 6months or so.

I have also used stuff years ago that was this type of product. My boat at the time was a 1987 with the original black gelcoat that was a chore to keep looking good. I believe the product came out of Florida and was called Newglass. I see they are now Newglass2.com

It worked OK. Lasted about a year. I think it was basically an acrylic clear coat.
