Transport two Merc engines Charlston - Ft L.
#1
Hi guys.
I live in Europe and sell powerboats here. I have two old Merc 3,4 liter outboards which are in Jacksonboro, SC. I want to send these to Europe, and need to get them to a terminal for shipping in a container. Can you help me get these to my friends in the shipping business in Ft. Lauderdale? They are quite big. They are now mounted Merc engine transporta pallets, one for each engines. These pallets should fit on a regular 8 ft. pickup truck bed. I believe transport on a trailer could be done, but I am unsure if the vibrations from the road would shake them a bit too much during all these miles..? Tve weight is about 570 LBS. each with the pallet.
Any suggestions how to do it? I would assume there are many trucks going down to south Florida on I-95 past Charlston who would be able to take one or both engines with them while they go to FL? These are not worth alot, so a «budget» transport would be greatly apprechiated. Hope to hear from a loyal fellow boat enthusiast who can help me out. :-)
Please send me an e-mail if you like to make some money and get them to FL from my friend at B.A.R. Marine.
