Default Superboat 30CC with a 400R, has it been done?

Seen a few running twins, but would a 400R work? If so what are the performance estimates?

I talked with Coen several years ago about building a single OB CC. He said that is the preferred setup for that hull. There’s others here with significantly more knowledge about the performance number but I’d say solid low 70s with single 400R.

Thanks, makes sense. My 24 CC does low 70’s with a 300XS.

Of course you always think about “the next boat”. Some of the things we love about the Superboat are it’s simplicity and easy of maintenance. With my boat living on a lift it’s a snap to put the CC and engine covers on her while the engine gets flushed after use. I typically take her out at least 2 times a week. A boat that’s easy to use gets used.
A lot of the “plusher” boats I see here show their age very quickly. My 2008 still looks great.
The 30CC with a rear bench seat is very interesting. Same simplicity, more seating and a bit better ride when we get a southerly off the Atlantic.
