Default Replacement for 088 heads ?

Hey guys,
I am rebuilding a 454 MPI engine and need to replace the 088 heads. Looks like some guys have had issues with the Enginequest heads so that leaves me with World Products or a GM performance part head. The World heads are cut for 2.300 valves and I am not sure about that in a 454. The GM heads (12562925) are cut for 2.18 intakes but that is not a big deal to open them to 2.19" The engine has been redone before and is not stock but has been running great for about 400 hours. It burned up a piston due to a bad injector. I want to try to keep the combination as close as possible.

I think I have talked myself into the GM head but just figured I would see if there were any other opinions.

Thanks,
Bill

I have only read two bad reports on the EQ heads. One the guy had valve guide angle issues (allegedly), the other actually ran them for some hours and said the valve seats were “soft”.

what info are you referring to?

A couple of threads here and also one of my friends at another machine shop had a set and said that the guides and seats were finished terribly. I am also a little leery of the 2.300 valves.
