Default Travis Pastrana P1 Offshore Invitational Attracts Motorsports Icons

Several big-time sponsors, including Monster Energy, backed the Travis Pastrana P1 Offshore Invitational powered by Traxxas, which was held under the radar in St. Petersburg, Fla., a couple of months back.

That's awesome. I said from the beginning, getting someone like Pastrana into offshore racing was the best thing the sport could do.

Question, The worlds in Key West will still be run by Race world, correct? And if so, will the others come play this year or is there still butt hurt and drama?? I can't keep up with it all.

I see a record breaking year in boat count in KW this year.

They did a great job of keeping it quiet in the area when they were here . Had zero clue.

It is a great thing for our class " Stock Vee" They were all in the same class boats that run the famous Merc. 525 motor.

I believe the class names have been changed to Stock V and Modified (or Mod) V, but I could be wrong. (In 2019, it was Pro Stock V.)

For what it's worth, from a point of clarity for the masses. Stock V and Modified V make sense.

The name has changed so many times I forgot what it was LOL. That's pretty sad. Thanks for the clarification.

Race Word Offshore is producing the event and I believe most teams will come. Any "drama" would be residual from the decision to make tKey West the world championships for the catamaran classes only, as previously reported (https://www.speedonthewater.com/offs...ella-for-2021/) I heard from one very unhappy V-bottom team early on, but that's it so far. That' as much as I know, Tank.

Well, I'm the first to say I can't keep up with all the drama and fractions and splits and whatnot in offshore racing. But I can say, we've enjoyed the Key West poker run and worlds weekend for the past 20 years. RWO did a good job with what they had to deal with and I would expect if all the other teams would join in, it would be beneficial to the teams, to the spectators, to the city of Key West ,etc. Hopefully it works out.
