OT, digital camera SmartMedia cards
#1
Have an Olypmus camera that came with only a 16MB Olympus-Camedia card, and am going to buy a 64 or 128 card.
Found the brand 'Power User' from a warehouse.com flyer that are quite abit cheaper in price. These any good?
Thanks

The only thing I have found with my Olympus digital, is that if you buy a card that isn't from them, my camera, which is capable of "creating" electronically blended panoramic pictures, can't.
It has to be their smart media card for this feature to work.
Omigosh! I just sounded like a major geek! Sorry.

Stick with the "smartmedia"...It costs a little more, but is much more reliable and has faster read/write times. I also have an Olympus with the same cards and when I borrowed a friend's off-brand memory card, I was not impressed.

Try www.photoworks.com
They sell SanDisk & Lexar memory cards at reasonable prices, offer online sharing & archiving. They will print your photo's, make calendars, christmas cards or burn them on a CD. I just got some prints back and they look great!

I think if you check into it you'll find that if you buy a "smart media" card once you use it in your camera, it won't work in anyone elses, it kinda programs itself to your cam, at least thats what they told me about them and my sony cam, check it out before you buy one of those, just to make sure, or the salesman may have been feeding me a line of poo poo.
