I know this is an old topic, I did read the PPG post, but my question is has anyone done the color in powder coat??? I tried a single coat of “Eastwood Mirror Blue” but it just doesn’t have the luster of the Mercury color.

If you have a powder coater local, I would suggest going by and getting the sample cards to match them to the Merc blue. I have some a full ring of prismatic cards, but my motors are still at the engine builders for another couple of weeks.

I spent yesterday working with two coat, chrome base and the “Mirror Blue” as well as a “Cadillac Blue” which I was told would lighten when applying over the chrome silver. Neither worked so I did some searching, https://www.prismaticpowders.com/ has an “intense blue” which looks to be pretty close. I’ve got my order in and a couple scraps ready for testing.
