Hello all,

I have 2 older 2002 Mercruiser 496HO motors and the ignition coil harnesses are a mess. I didn't realize that they don't make the older style anymore and ordered what is the new style. The main adapter to the engine harness is the same. The adapter the plugs in to the coil pack is much smaller. The part I need is 84-881721001, which is no longer available, the new part is 84-8M0143829 but has the different coil pack plugs.

Could I either change the coil pack adapters? or, just get the newer style coil packs, I know it's a lot of $ in coil packs but engines are already being rebuilt so I'll do what's best. Not sure if the old style coils work the same as new etc?

Any thoughts?
