Default Daytona sensors cd1

Having some issues with my Daytona sensors cd1. Was wondering if maybe anyone else possibly ran into some similar issues or had some insight. Back story- Recently built a Mark 4 496 10:1 compression roller engine etc etc stroker for my 242ss formula. After doing a ton of research on ignitions, pros and cons of msd and Daytona, there seemed to only be one real option in my mind, Daytona sensors cd1. After reading nothing but bad news with the marine 6al and not many success or positive story’s to go along my mind was made up with all the capability’s and what seemed to be a good support base from everyone in this forum. My issue currently is my engine will fire for anywhere from 1-5 seconds and run and kill spark immediately and give a steady blinking light on the box until ignition is turned off and back on again and repeat. I’m running a Hall effect distributor from Daytona and have tried everything the tech guys there have suggested and don’t know where to go from here. If anyone has any suggestions of what to do or where to start that would be great I’m out of ideas at this point .

i use many delco est,s or clones they just simply work and have much idle timing we turn a 540ci 6500-6800 and it lights the fire every time!

Blinking light means it lost pickup signal. I’d try another distributor
also make sure you’re wired for key in power, not just key in crank position

I used my MSD distributor and after I figured out I had transposed the new spark plug wires one position it runs great. It starts like a dream now, once it's been started for the day just a quick hit on the key is all it takes, don't have to touch the throttle any more. Wish I would have found it 10 years ago.

I was chasing what turned out to be a pickup issue in the distributor, but when I turned my CD1 on the light comes on steady. After you crank it briefly it then blinks from them on. I was worried that was the issue and was frustrated but it ended up being a different problem. I ended up rebuilding the distributors just so I had ALL new.

Lots of discussion about modifying the distributor if your using the Hall Effect Merc distributor in the instructions. I assume you've read those and made the necessary modifications?

EDIT - just saw you're using the Daytona distributor. I assume it's phased properly

Just a quick update, ordered an hei to get me going for the time being. Talked to Daytona sensors this morning and they’re going to have me send the box, coil and distributor back to them for testing and see what the issue is and warranty anything that may be bad. Thanks for the reply’s I’ll reply with any updates I hear from them soon.
