Fueling trouble at gas station

I've had this ongoing issue with fuel backing up and shutting off the pump for as long as I've owned the boat (1990 29').
I can throttle the fuel pump lever down to ~10% flow and it will fill OK but it's a PITA and takes forever.
Abt 6 or 7 years ago, I found a gas station nearby with a pump nozzle that appeared to be bent so it was straighter than normal. With that pump, I could fill at full speed every time ,hands-free. That nozzle would go a little further into the receptacle compared to the others. Unfortunately for me, they recently did a make-over on the store and installed all new gas pumps. Now I'm back to dribbling the fuel in again.
Tried 3 more stations between the house and the lake. Same issue at all of them. I've tried holding the nozzle at all different positions and got a slight mount of improvement holding handle at the 2 o-clock position but it's still pretty bad and leaves me with a fuel stain down the side that I have to clean up.
Don't think there any obstructions in the fill line or vent line since it worked great at the one station for years. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions short of custom bending some pump nozzles??

I have never had this issue, but I have seen a couple of guys that have inserted a large funnel with a wide tube going into the boat, they then insert the fuel pump nozzle into the large funnel. My guess is they had the same type of issue.

I’ve had that issue at one pump. No matter how far in/out or angled, it would not take fuel fast. Tried it more than once because it was the easiest pump to get to.
At the same gas station, I started using a different pump and it’s fine.
But it is odd several different gas stations do that to you.
