Changed to pertronix distributor in 1989 Four Winns Liberator with OMC 5.7. Looking for base timing specs as well as advance specs. Have it set to 8 degrees BTDC base and seems to run good but a little sluggish getting on plane. Thinking it may be a little advanced for 87 octane fuel. Any thoughts?

32*f total is usually fine and safe fir most sbc’s.
