So I am looking at installing a newer 2006+ engine in a 2001 boat. My boat currently has a 10pin harness and analog gauges. The newer motor has a 14pin harness and I believe smartcraft gauge support (digital stuff). There appears to be 10 to 14 pin adapters out on the market that can facilitate the connection, but will all of my analog gauges still work as is with the newer motor? All of the pins on the 14 pin setup are smaller gauge, will the dash/fuse panel still get power through this connection?

Thanks, I do recall seeing that. Seems pointless to 14 to 10 if I need a 14pin harness to interface with the AGI module. What all would I need to convert to a smartcraft setup. Gauges (tach, OP, WP, Trim), digital trim sender. Would I need a new fuel level sender?

I think you’d need the entire harness plus the gauges to do it right. I’m not familiar with SmartCraft but have looked into bit a little. There are some interfaces out there that will do the digital to analog conversions but I’ve only looked them up out of curiosity more than anything.
Your fuel tank sender should be fine. It’s not part of the engine harness.
I’m sure someone else with more information on this will chime in.
