Default Exhaust headache

first want to thank everyone for their help in the past. I have taken pretty much everyone’s advice and not worried about the things I shouldn’t be worried about like cam and all that stuff. I’ve been doing a lot of research on exhaust systems for my Baja 272 with454 and a very slight modified cam and small 177 Weiand blower. My exhaust is the stock MerCruiser exhaust and have had no issues with reversion. However it is choking my engine. I see that there’s numerous problems with EMI and have now narrowed it to stainless Marine, Hardin seaward and Dana. I am more confused now than I was before but it seems like these three manifolds and risers would be the best bet. I just don’t know which ones to get And how high the razor should be and if it Hass to be a dry exhaust. It has been suggested by my infamous mechanic to get the EMI 513 dry. Though many people have no problems with the EMI I don’t want any problems down the road just in case. What do you suggest? I’m new at this game as far as dry versus wet and real long risers versus standard and riser height. But I do know I want stainless steel. Please let me know what you guys think for the most part. I don’t want to get headers just a manifold exhaust system. I also know I need brackets for oil filter etc. With your experience it will help me a great deal.

Is there no one that has an opinion or knows anything about exhaust systems? If so let me know so I can make a good decision

You absolutely do not need dry exhaust. Just get exhaust with longer risers. Any brand should work just fine. SM are prob the best and longest lasting manifold/risers.

Thanks Griff. How do they compare with the EMI 513?

Is it easier to the spark plugs out with the Stainless than the Gills?
