Default Apache Scout Questions (1987 22 I/O Bravo Package)

I recently acquired a 1987 22' Apache Scout with a 7.4 Mercruiser. Does anyone know how many 22' Scouts were built with the I/O? Please send any additional info on these models since I plan to restore the interior and other items. I have read through many other threads on the 22's but info still seems to be subjective. Boat runs great, thanks in advance for any details!

I would love to see a 6.0L LS with a bravo ITS on a Scout == i think that would be a great set up... Although the outboards these days would push it along just as well and would lend itself to salt life better...

Good Luck with it -- great boats!

I believe you mean 7.4 liter / 330 HP big blocks. You could not get the 365 HP Magnum with an Alpha - only a Bravo.

Back to the OP, remember, the 454 / 330 Alpha drive combination is a ticking time bomb. Take it easy on that bad boy.

not refering to the 365 horsepower magnum bravo package. i was refering to the "first" magnum package that was available. it was a 454 330 horsepower 1.32:1 alpha drive package. velocity installed them too. this package was also available with the new at the time 1.32:1 alpha ss drive.

I'm doing one right now thats gonna have a 427 LS Motor and a Bravo XR, First I've got to replace the transom and remove the gas tank. It is certainly built like an Apache, It's got Bulkheads under the deck like a race boat.. Heavy as hell, No Core, just 3/8" thick Glass everywhere....

the blackhawk and its would be awesome on that, my buddys with a 383 is in the 80's. being as you're redoing the transom, you'll have plenty of engine for the counter rotating props

The Blackhawk worries me about parts availability, otherwise id consider it, Thanks... This Boat is a White with Red stripe out of Maryland. There's a Thread on here about it, the last post was where the guy was gonna run it that weekend with a 350, I'm guessing it was too heavy and didn't perform well and he took all his stuff back out and sold it. then it sat in Fla for 3yrs, I went and picked it up the week after labor day.. Been Cutting and chipping and itching about every day since.. Lol, I'm trying to get the Glass Work part done before winter sets in...The Motor and rigging I can do while it's cool in the garage but Not the Carbon Fiber Coosa and Epoxy...
