Default When is a "boat" considered a "yacht"?

What length (or something else) would you consider a "boat" transitions to a "yacht"? Or do you just consider them all boats?

What up Gboat?! Long time no talk! I think the more pressing question is when does a yacht transitions to a ship!????

When the selling broker knows he can get you excited and get further into your bank account by making you feel superior, everything becomes a ‘yacht’. 🙂

A yacht is any boat that has a cabin and facilities that can accommodate overnight use.

My friends 26 ft Searay is a yacht. My 28 ft Searay Sundancer was a yacht and my Formula Fastech 292 is a yacht .

There are a few definitions and my Excalibur 45 meets most of them. But my definition of a yacht is something I can't
afford hahaha.

Shameless pictures of my 'non-yacht'.

A ship is per definition a “boat” longer than 24meters 74,78ft.

Interesting discussion, I was led to believe yacht was properly described over the 24 meter mark that has accommodations and the term ship was applied for when the vessel was described in terms of tonnage/ captains credentials over a certain requirement

On the Great Lakes ships are called boats regardless of their size.

The Fountain 48 Express must really open up many possibilities. We’ll call it a very wide power band. Braap ! Lol
