Winter Fuel storing questions ? Have my boat stored in a climate controlled 70 degree building and put it away with 200 gallons of 93 octane we never burned thru . question is pump it out and use in snowblower & family cars or just add some Toulene or Boostane & top off with some fresh 93 in the Spring to bump it up and use it ... Have 2 fresh motors being built so will need the Octane to be 93 .thanks in advance

Double batch of ethanol stabilize. (2oz per 10 gallons). Will be good to go in the spring.

My thought is a tank of gas is cheaper than a motor... If I am even debating the question, I wont take the risk. So I have a little generic electric fuel pump I hook up and drain whats left in the tank in the spring, throw it in the car, the lawnmower etc, then start the season with a fresh tank of 93

The only thing I would add to Phragle's input is that we ran the engines out on a portable tank with a stabilizer cocktail (Merc's recipe) so that the engine's fuel system is stable until the next year..... unless the boat was run on stabilized fuel for a final run of season not just 5 min on hose.

The climate control is meaningless if you are concerned about phase separation in the fuel, if it has any ethanol in it. STABIL or other brand fuel conditioners added to the tank should be all you need. I take it you can't get ethanol-free fuel where you are at?

If it’s sitting for just the off season I dump a gallon of sea foam in each tank and don’t worry about it. There’s a theory out there that says the less fuel that’s in the tank means more air means more moisture gathering with the freezing and thawing temps of a winter up here. Do whatever makes you comfortable

No stabilizer cocktail engines & fuel systems are out of the boat at the present time

the climate control should keep from tanks sweating so its more a problem with the ffuel gunna be 7 mos old and 93 octane is critical

Throw some stabilizer at the tank and pump it into your vehicles. Start with fresh fuel in 2022

I would use Stabil now and then add 20 gallons of 110-114 race fuel in the Spring.
Every Spring I used to add 10 gallons of race fuel for every 100 gallons of fuel I had in the tank when I had my turned up 525SC. Never any issues, but I always had non ethanol fuel.
