Default Mini B next to Big B

I have the molds for years now. Finally made a few hulls, this one fully rigged with 3 hp electric motor and surface drive. Runs around 40 mph.

Options for RC boats are unlimited,
now new M8 stern drives available up to 10 hp. Two M8s with 20 Hp would push my 48" over a hundred mph. Lol

I used to race (and still have) nitro R/C boats back in the late '80s, but I have to tell you...some of these electric boats are pretty dang impressive, too.

I have been into R/C everything since the 80's also. Our old nitro's don't stand a chance against the new brushless electric technology.

Electric motor can instantly 24K rpm.
unreal hole shots. Turn on a dime, low center of gravity. I spun mine out at 40 and didn't roll over. Just WOW!
Check out this M8 stern drive, handles up to 10 hp. Put twin M8s with 10 hp each and for sure over 100 mph.

Same hardened gears and shafts as a real Merc M8. Capable of 10 hp each. Nuts technology.

This is really cool...I may have to check it out and get another (this time electric) boat. Loved the nitro boats but expensive fuel, starter boxes, glow plugs and igniters...lot more hassle than it seems the electrics would be. And not a lot of people liked the sound of the engine screaming at 35,000 rpm through a tuned pipe!

Any good links for starters?

Thanks,

Thanks,
I purchased Sonicwake RC boat and cut entire drive line out and epoxy into my hull.
To many details to build from parts, so I opted to by complete with charger and 2 lipo 3 batteries. I purchased everything from local RC dealer and his recommendation for batteries and charger.
The larger batteries last longer and have a big blast for hole shots.
Photo of donor hull I used for all the parts.

I have done the same thing to re-power some of my old boats, it was cheaper to buy a new ready to run boat and strip it than buy everything individually.
