Default Question

What are the advantages of staggering besides changing plugs?

Changing impellers, and oh ya...... Faster!!

But look at that setup. With the huge fuel tanks you'd still have to pull the engines just to change the plugs

Staggering is for better balance, it moves the center of gravity forward allowing the boat to run better in rough water. That would be awsome at the Ozarks!!

Unhappy

Maybe I am wrong, but I have always thought the main advantage was to be able to have the drives closer together.

Drives closer together, same theory as a dragster narrowing a rear to get the tires closer together.
more push closer together = better overall propulsion than 2 drives wider and further apart, now cats, different story, less friction on hull to water contact
Hydrodynamics
