Default Dana 1000 cylinders leaking

First winter with this boat that came out of Florida. It’s been colder then normal in MD with several nights in a row in the teens. Noticed today that both tabs had fluid dripping. Port side where the angle nipple screws into cylinder and the starboard side dripping at the seal on cylinder. Nothing has leaked since I bought it in July. Could it just be the aluminum shrinking from the cold and the seals as well?

It could be the cold. or the cold is just bringing to light a leak that was going happen anyway.

Suggest you get both cylinders resealed now during the off season as the winter leak foretells summer problems! Have the seeping angle nipple hole checked out at the same time.

They should not leak regardless of temp. Have them rebuilt. Have you checked your tab pump oil reservoirs? Mine had visible signs of water in oil when my seals were going south.

Bob at Marine Industries West rebuilt mine.

That is a good price and for the $$$, I'd send them in to get resealed.
