at the end of the season my starboard drive had a delay engaging which worsened to where it could take up to 30 seconds to engage. adjustments to the linkage showed no improvements.I have pulled the lower unit for service and noticed gear oil in the housing as well a some water.(both minor amounts)any ideas? are these 2 issues related? and last any recomendations as to a good repair facility?thanks in advance

you might have a problem with the shift cable housing being broken,it is also possible that there is a problem with the cone clutch or shift fork.very rare.if there is gear lube in the bellhousing you probably hav a bad yoke seal in the drive.i am sure there is someone closer to you than us but if not we would be happy to check it out for you.chris
