Nice. Just seems every time we get our hopes up for a good movie with power boats in it we’re let down. while movie quality is subjective at best, the lack of a solid performance boat oriented movie we can all get behind has yet to surface. Speed Kills was a complete train wreck of a movie. Miami vice movie while not completely sucking, did cut out a lot of the cool boat scenes we all were pumped to see. The beach bum with Mathew mccononaughey where he stole a Doug Wright for a joy ride was ok at best. Then there’s an array of b movies (and decent movies like James Bond I suppose) through the years with flashes of performance boats. Maybe this new movie will be “the one”. Hopefully.
I had high hopes for a real (read big budget) speed kills movie that scot free pictures had the rights too for a while and Russell crow was rumored to take the roll of Aronow. They were actually working on writing a screen play based off the book and worked with Michael aronow But it kept getting bumped until it was no longer being considered. Se la vi. Hollywood’s a finicky b!tch.

There was a movie in the 1980s called "No More Dirty Deals" that was a total B movie on VHS. I was probably 12 when I rented it. To date the best powerboat movie made, although if I watched it today I'm sure my opinion may change.

Yep, we keep that DVD in the Portofino tv. Every time we go out, I fire it up. Now the fight scene in the Fountain is kind of hilarious lol Thats quite the cabin size in that 42.

A real world, accurate movie about Aronow would be a huge hit.
The true story has everything needed w/o additional fiction.
What I keep hearing, anytime something surfaces, is that that Aronow family still has enough clout to squash it.
No it wasn’t all good but was still amazing history and that was part of it.
Similar to the others involved the drug side of that era.
What they did to hide/cover their steps was amazing.
In the nine yrs I lived down there, I listened to every story I ever heard and some were amazing.
I can’t imagine being a young adult and living down there in that era!
