RIP. Charlie was a good guy and funny to be around. Some of his boating antics were classics!

Matt thanks for remembering Charlie so well. As a former English teacher, Charlie would have enjoyed how well written the article was. But knowing Charlie, he would have appreciated the insertion of a few more big-dollar vocabulary words he often regaled us with! Charlie had many circles of friends, including the “less colorful”, conservative ones like myself. Also, he was closely embraced by the Poker Run organizations and boat manufacturers - Charlie was a powerful and tireless brand advocate.

Charlie couldn’t help but touch many people given his big, outgoing personality. He’s been in my thoughts today and if there’s a boater’s heaven, he’s the one I’d like to greet me with a booming, enthusiastic “Commander Rick” ….

Charlie was an educated man and his vocabulary was far superior to mine. Like you and so many others, I will miss his company.

Thank you for the kind words.
