I've been pondering building a plate that goes on the transom assembly, and uses the factory studs to secure it in place, just like the outdrive does. Use a rubber gasket glued to the plate so it seals against the bell, and then on the outside has a means to hook up a garden hose. So, you could run the boat without the drive installed. I know some folks have flush Ts already in their boats, and a strainer etc. but mine doesn't have those.

Kinda hard to explain it but basically just a plate that goes in place of the outdrive. Obviously you would want to make sure the seal is good so it doesn't get water into your bellows/bearing area.

Has anyone ever seen something like I'm explaining?

Have one on each engine. I can run the engines out of water, and the drive being on is irrelevant.
**Not sure that's the one for YOUR engine, but it's the same basic idea.

They come in various sizes, so check yours first. I'm happy w/them.

I have seen something like that once....but i think it was home made. I know exactly what your saying.....I think it was originally marketed for storage but the guy put his own fitting on there to run water. it would be fairly easy to make. Id probably make it first out of plastic so you can see where to position your water inlet unless you want to do a bunch of measuring.

heres one for an alpha for storage without the outdrive on it....i believe he had something like this but modified it for his needs.

best and simplest is cut a rubber washing machine hose in half stick it inside to water intake hole sometimes i trywrap it to a stud so it does not blow out when it stalls its cheap and works well
