Default Baja 26 Outlaw Reviews??

Hi Everyone, I am looking at purchasing a 2007 Baja Outlaw. Was wondering if you guys had an inputs about them like their performance, how they handle, can they be used in the ocean comfortably? Thinks like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much

We had a 25 Outlaw and it was a great boat. The 26 is the newer model of the 25 but very similar. For that size they handle rough very well. I can say we had ours in real 3 footers and did ok at 35-40mph. Performance wise they’re not the fastest, but easy and fun to drive. My favorite thing about that boat was its ability to take on Lake Michigan one day and a smaller inland lake the next.

They are very good in rough water for their size. I’ve tried lots of props and the best by far is a B1 FS 25.5”. I’ve not tried a lab finished B1 but my guess is the cost would not be worth the money. 62 - 63 mph all the time at 5000 rpm. Good cruise of 33 mph at 2900 rpm. The Bravo 1 prop burns 35% less fuel then mirage plus props but is 2 mph slower top end. I’ve had my 26 Outlaw in waves that were over the top of the boat quartering. Could only do 24 mph but did fine none the less. I always use my tabs to run the boat smooth in rough water. Helps a lot. A B1 LT 25.5” might give a mph more on top and cruise but you’ll have to run more trim and that is less stable in rough water.

Default 26 Outlaw

I can echo and agree with many of the prior comments. We love our 2007 26 Outlaw. We spend most summer weekends at Panama City Beach, and Pensacola, and run in the bay, gulf, run over to Crab Island in Destin occasionally. It may not be the fastest boat, but I would venture to bet its the driest. The low sides and bow on lighter boats make for a wet ride in the gulf along the beach. I rebuilt my 496HO for a Whipple, am beefing up the outdrive with a 2” shorty, and added hydraulic steering.. It’s plenty fast enough for us. We love ours, and if you boat in areas like we do, it’s a hard boat to beat.

Great boat. Mine has the 525 with ITS. Handles well and very dry boat.
