Default Mercruiser VS GM 502 flywheel

Hello,
Is their a difference between a GM performance and Mercruiser gen V1 502 the GM is half the price.

pretty sure the Merc gen VI is externally balanced so make sure you get the right one,

There 2 different GM externally balanced flywheels on the GEN VI. They are NOT interchangeable.

  • Mercury-Mercruiser 230-843374T1 FLYWHEEL (also see pic below of which merc motors used on)

One is for cast cranks other for forged. 502’s only come forged cranks. 454’s where made with either depending on engine model.
