Default Bravo 1 coupler

Just removed engines for refresh. I noticed the bravo couplers, spline looks good, no dry rot and rubber looks good, Do I need change them? They are a bit pricey now.
Thanks

I wouldn't. Just pulling an engine to replace a coupler isn't that bad of a job.

Long as alignment is correct and splines are lubed couplers will last many, many hours.
Did I mention alignment?

Did you remove them yourself or pay someone else to do it? If it were me, and I paid someone to pull/replace the engines, I would replace them. (2 motors/8 hours to R/R x 100.00/hr +) I think you are on borrowed time.

Even though I removed the engines myself and as much as I do not want to spend the $$ on the couplers I agree with you. For the amount of hours on them and the labor hours if one old one fails its better to change them now... It is a big deal pulling an engine for me and the fact that I had to borrow a forklift...I got lucky there!
Thanks for your input

I had one fail on me a while ago, so when I had to pull both engines 2 years ago I replaced the other one just for fun. it was 20yrs old. since the engine was out anyway, took only a few min, and now I know I did everything I could. and to pull it again would be a hassle.

So does anyone have an issue with buying Sierra replacement coupler. $428 shipped. Looks like the same thing??. I don't know how deep $$ I am getting in with the engines so if I can save a few bucks it helps.
