Default 575sci backfire and stalling intermittently

So I have had my port motor act up over the last couple of years. Symptom is- runs fine for 1/2 hour to 1 hour then while cruising (3400 rpm) it will start popping back through intake and die. Fuel pressure does not drop. I’ll crank for 3-4 seconds and it will restart then pop and backfire and stall 3 or 4 times more before it finally pops the circuit breaker on top of motor (overheated from cranking
I assume) then all 12v power is dead. I’ll let it sit for 1/2 hour or so, reset breaker and it starts and runs fine.
This last weekend it popped and stalled one time then restarted and ran fine the rest of the day. I’ve had it to Mark at Savage in Havasu who replaced the transom assemblies 3 years ago and he cannot get it to do it.
any ideas? Everything I can think of that would cause this usually wouldn’t allow it to restart immediately- ignition module/ ecm/ ignition coil wire or rotor etc. the coil was replaced without cure. The symptom was not there during a couple trips out in 2020 but returned. Any ideas or past experiences would help, thanks Mike

Sure sounds like a distributor module to me. Use arctic silver heat transfer compound (or similar) when you mount it. Remove old compound for dist mounting surface. Read how to apply (extremely thin layer) the compound.

Do not get aftermarket module. Get the Acdelco or Merc one - which will be a acdelco one. Get the #’s from your original one.

#9 is the module
