Default New fire extinguisher rule

Found out last weekend, all fire extinguishers now need to be stamped with a date of 11 years old or newer. The date is stamped in the bottom. The Illinois DNR guy said this is new for 2022.

That's for disposables. If they are serviceable, then they need a current inspection tag.

For some portable rechargeable extinguishers sometimes it's cheaper to buy new than have them certified.
At least once a season remember to check your extinguisher. Turn dry chemical extinguishers upside down, tap on the bottom to break up chemical agent , check horn for evidence of discharge, check pressure guage and pin.

PASS Pull, aim, squeeze and sweep.
