Default Four Winns Liberator Gas Springs for bilge lid

I'm a new member, but I've been lurking here for a while. I recently bought a 1986 Four Winns Liberator 211. I'm going through and fixing things that have been neglected through the years. One of the items on my to-do list is to replace the bilge lid gas springs. My problem is that the part number on the old springs is not legible. I know all the dimensions, but I'm not sure of the spring weight rating. If anyone on here has a Liberator 211 and knows the weight rating of your gas springs, would you please let me know which ones I need to buy. Thanks in advance.

Welcome - id just take one to your local automotive store and match up. Seems like that’s what I did back in the day and worked fine.

You can also check out Lift Support Depot, a website where you can search by length, mounting end style, etc.

Thanks for the info. I had no luck at the parts store since there multiple force ratings on the size of spring I need. But I’ll check out that website. Just trying to avoid buying the wrong part and having to buy the parts twice.

Just wanted to follow up on the solution to my original post. I guessed and ordered two springs with a 60 pound force each. They work good. Probably could’ve got away with 40 pound springs though. So if anyone finds themselves in the same spot I was in, that’s how I fixed it. Thanks again for the replies
