Default Can I safely store a 28' Skater on a boat lift in FL

I have bought 3 new boats since moving to FL 2000 and stored them on my boat lift. I just installed a new 4 post Boatlift USA 10K boat lift and would now like to buy a used 24 to 28 Skater. I will match the supports used on the Skater trailer to support it safely on my boat lift. My only concern is the long term effects of the FL sun on the gel coat of a Skater. Is the Skater gel coat durable enough to stand up to the long term effects of the hot FL sun without a full mooring cover? The FL sun degrades the gel coat on any boat stored on a lift under the hot FL sun without a cover, even when thoroughly waxed. If necessary I would cover the Skater with a 9.25 oz Sunbrella mooring cover. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who is or has stored a 24 to 28 Skater long term on a boat lift in FL. Thanks.
