Default Best Scan tool for DIY Guys. 2007 496 Mag

Just bought a 23' Baja 07 Outlaw with Merc 496 Mag i/o. 292 hours. I generally do whatever DIY I can on my cars and have the SCAN tools needed to pull codes, fix it and then clear them.
What do you guys recommend I get for my motor? I see Techmate Pro and Rinda Diacom seem popular. Thanks for your suggestions and any links you can offer. Thank you.

I wouldn't own a modern engine having a scanner handy. You also need the dongle for that engine.

I have the Techmate, and is real handy. If you get into some heavy problems you would like the Diacom software and a laptop so you can use the record feature and see more thinks then 4 at once

The Rinda Techmate is the only handheld scanner that will work.
Last I saw, they were out of stock everywhere

Sydwayz,
I still have the one you bought for me at the bar in Miami Boat Poker Run.....Can't remember the year but it was Three Nor-Techs and Two Cigarettes ago!! LOL ( Guessing around 2014 ??)
I don't use it anymore NUCC100 if you would like to buy it... I "think" I spent $350 or $400 on it.
Came in really handy when I had my 525 boats!!
Thanks, Patrick

You were brave taking boating advice from me while were both in a bar drinking! I'm glad it paid off.

If you have twin engine’s I would highly suggest spending the extra coin and buying the Diacom so you can record and compare both engine’s. Regardless if you plan on working on any of these engines you will need one or the other.
