Hey everyone, quick history on me.. been a member of OSO since 2003 (hence 454 in my name haha) but never posted and have just been reading/soaking up the knowledge for a few decades now... well I'm finally ready to actually buy a new boat (had a 20 footer for many years). I'm looking at the 288 MCOB as one of my choices (maybe top choice). However, all the info I have on them is based on OSO threads, pictures and youtube videos. I have never set foot in one or even been around one in person. I know the cockpits are small but I'm still drawn to this boat vs many of its competitors. Are there any 288 MCOB owners in the Northeast that could help me out? I'm not even looking to drive one, just want to get to check it out and pick an owners brain for 30 mins to an hour so that when I find one to buy I can pull the trigger quickly once I find the right boat. I'll fly to check out a boat I want to buy, but hoping I can see one locally before that obviously. I'll buy you a couple cases of beer or something, you let me check out your boat? Worth a shot right?
Also, obviously if anyone is looking to sell or knows of one on the market, that's even better. I look every day and there have been a few but I'm being a little picky. Ideally freshwater only when I buy and 2006 or newer.

I have an 95 and love it. I was like you, shopping for one from what I had read from other. Never having seen one live. Once I did I bought the 2nd one I looked it. Pristine condition. I'm in SE Ohio and you'd be welcome to come by and look if you are in this neighborhood.
A fried is selling a 2003 MCOB that is tricked out. Last year he upgraded the power to a 525. With new engine and lower unit it's like new. Interior looks like new. Really nice. He had 79 on it. He's in Maine. All freshwater boat. I can put you in touch if you are still looking.
