Default Monaco Yacht Harbor- '22 F1 Grand Prix

After the Miami Yacht Basin thread I thought I'd share some photos from recent Monaco race- I bought tickets in 2019 and finally got to go this year!
We spent time in Normandy and Paris after the race and just got back home. Some very nice boats in addition to the Yachts. An amazing sea of fiberglass . The horns blaring at the end of the race was a surprise.
Wifey and I viewed qualifying from the La Rascasse club on Saturday and then the main stands (K) on Sunday at Harbor.

Lane

View from Rascasse Saturday looking North/East

Corner at Rascasse- qualifying

View from North Train Station cliff- we walked up hill for about a mile- then took an elevator down into a tunnel to the train station-Hotel in Nice

Early Sunday from Grandstand K

View of track along harbor

Hill up to the tunnel on left near yellow crane- first left turn at harbor- the Yacht on right had a very loud sound system and had the crowd in stands singing as we waited out an hour of rain. The deck must have been flexing with 25 people jumping up & down- they sprayed each other with champagne at end of race. Must of been a rental Yacht

Very nice lines on the Yacht with sun bather

Wajer 55'- made the other boats look small!

Wajer- Drivers had Wajer jackets- maybe they were advertising their craft..

Wajer 55'

Wajer 38' striking interior color

Wajer 38'S Vandal- Amsterdam

Nice lines..

F1 Monaco is on our bucket list to do.

Super jealous qnd would love to know more.

The MTI is the tender to the all gold Palm Johnson Yacht from Miami.

Ah..We chose a package with Hotel & tickets- stayed in Nice. You can view race in yacht, drink with drivers on yacht, take a helicopter to airport from track, view in Monaco Hotel. Depends on budget and experience you want. I thought the party at Rascasse looked fun so did that on Saturday- the crowd in stands was suggested as best race experience for Sunday.

Took wifey to Cannes film festival on Thursday- never thought Top Gun would be a draw

Beach Restaurant- Nice 91F and humid

Nice

TG display

5th floor tent on building roof top we visited

Rascasse good food and free drink all day

Thanks for the pics, good thing you went as its a 50/50 chance as to whether F1 will renew with Monaco. They are the only track that does not pay the fee to host a race and with F1 exploding in popularity there has been discussion about changing that or they are gonna remove them from the schedule. Will see, there is a ton of coin that rolls in. The logistics getting those boats into the harbor is monumental. Have a friend I use race with thats with McLaren, said if it wasn't for the tradition and atmosphere they would pull the plug on it, track is too tight, few passing zones and when a driver makes an error is usually very costly I digress

Yea I heard a bit about the odd contracting relationships from a TV girl at Rascasse- certainly the worst race for competing on the track. I was certain Ferrari could pull off a win with LeClerc on pole- I even bought a 50 euro red hat - Schumacher crash changed all of that. I do recall one pass in front of myh stand- everyone was surprised ( I havent watched the race on TV yet).

I was wondering if the harbor has been cleared yet and how many days it takes to get out!

Imagine all of the yelling in French, Italian etc !

My pics appear better than my videos

The finish

Cruising the Seine in Paris

Seine- Pont Alexandre bridge

Notre-Dame Cathedral

Other side- Notre Dame

Seine- recognize anyone?

I paid Jimmy a visit at Pere Lachaise scaling the fence around the grave to leave a 1967 GT500 for him (top left). Jim called the car the "blue lady". A gift from his Manager- he reportedly crashed it into a curb and destroyed the front suspension and walked away. The car has not been found. I believe that is the car in the short video/movie he made although it looks green to me from memory.
A Greek was at the grave and suggested Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy meant make peace with your inner demon- apparently Jim's Father drafted the phrase.

RIP
