Someone claiming to be apart of the family on the original facebook post, said they were towing another boat that wasnt running and suddenly lost all power and electronics, no power to bilge pumps either. Said it took on water fast.

Gold Rush Nortech 50 went down in NJ, bottom delaminated likely from impact with a submerged object but also remember that boat fell off the trailer leaving a boat ramp about 10 years back. Quad 1200s no doubt are heavy so that might have contributed to the bottom issue. The original owner was an elderly guy so that boat never really got run hard by him and it seemed to have sat for years up in Canada/Michigan so its possible nobody ran it hard until this owner bought it.

I can't believe they didn't have their jackets on and they took forever getting off the boat. I may not always have one on if I'm cruising along, but I always have it handy.

F2,

Right?!? Boats don't just sink because the lose power. SOMETHING caused it to start taking on water, and I can't imagine they hit anything hard enough to cause it to start taking on water that fast while towing another boat. Nothing about this story makes much
sense.

Thanks. Brad.
