Default alcantara vinyl

Who here has experience with the alcantara 'fuzzy' vinyl on a boat?

What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Does it get hot even in darker colors?
How does it clean up? (seems like it would be hard to clean with it being fuzzy)
How does it hold up? (seems like the 'fuzzyness' would wear off easily over time and maybe create 'shiny' spots)

I don’t know what alcantara vinyl is, but if it’s the regular alcantara suede like fabric, mine has faded a bit but not terrible. Only see it when comparing next to a piece that hasn’t seen sun. It doesn’t get that hot. Cleans up fairly easily, seems to be a bit more durable than vinyl

We have lots of threads about this material over on Corvette forum.com - different application obviously, but it's a man made fabric and general consensus is that it wears well and cleans up easily. I opted for it throughout my car including the steering wheel. TBD on long term durability.
