Place has been there forever.
Visited a few times over the years.
Know a few that are planning on attending the auction to see what they can get.
Did not know about the Torch Lake location.

In the marine industry, marine mechanics are just impossible to find.

In a way that is scary, think about industry wide how that will be a issue.

I know an older guy that just closed a furniture store, same deal his dad opened it and the son is now in his late 60's. Literally 6 months prior to Covid he sold the building (3mm) then had an auction company come in and sell off the furniture that was left in inventory. He was stunned that he got another 430K from that "sale." His kids had professional jobs, definitely didn't want to sell furniture. He was relatively set and just padded his retirement with a couple more million.

Some how we lost in my opinion 2 generations of potential "hands on" workers/techs , young boys who were supposed to be the " men " of the future. Mechanics,Body Shop techs , electricians ,etc.

Going on 34 years in Collision refinish, I am finding out that I am the last of the Mohicans- no new young boys looking to work or even learn .

We have 1 new dis assembly tech about 30 -he is trying- but he is finding out that taking new model vehicles apart is not easy nor fun. Don't know how long he will last.

The local coffee place I frequent, its almost all boys working there. Some are ferries but a few are not. I just shake my head in disbelief. Seems 2 generations just want to do as little as possible.

I can't imagine having to staff a business needing skilled talent, much less the basic common sense.

It's FUBAR.

I'm beginning to see more of the high H.P multi engine outboard boats around northern Michigan and wonder who and how long it would take to get someone to come to work on one at a transient marine.

Man, you really hate to see stories like this.

these guys get what they deserve, screw them. they are going out of business because they screw people over. fukced me on a brokerage purchase, lied to me, lied in court, and about got me and my two kids killed.

guess when you have a shady reputation its eventually comes back to you. fukc them.

consider it an improvement for the marine industry that they are gone, fukcing thieves.
