Cool Key West Rough

In the spirit of the 2022 World Championships with the cancellation of Wednesday’s race due to the incoming storm and winds, 22 years ago the roughest race in Key West World Championship history was held in 8 to 10 footer with an occasional 12 footers. It’s hard to believe but we did race in a rib breaking, sponson stuffing, transom cracking, equipment punishing event. The good old days

Fact is 80% of the course was that rough.

This was a long day at Key West 2000.....Port motor down, lost electronics first lap. Painfully ran the remainder of the race on center and starboards Mercs.

Thumbs up Cobra

Yes Cobra You have a good eye. Offshore legend Billy Gzell’s 2nd race boat and the only triple engine cat with a center tab. Has removable insert for rear seat. Hull won worlds with Gzell and US1 with current owner Gabe Sipos Nice piece if he ever decides to sell.

would matter more if they actually left the harbor. its snotty out for sure, but looks more like a big lake chop. not swells.
