Default '94 35' fountain lightning

Hi I am new to the group. We are looking at a '94 35' lightning, less than 60 hrs on rebuilt 502's, new upholstery throughout, tandem axle trailer with both axles rebuilt. We have arrived at a price of $35,000. NADA rates the boat at $24,000 with trailer. Thoughts??

Agreed. Doesn’t sound like a bad price. Any recent surveys? Documentation on the rebuilds?

NADA estimates mean nothing…better off doing your own research. look at listings, talk to people, see what’s selling vs. sitting, etc.

good luck

side note - randomly came across your Cig post last night questioning sale price. If I was in the market! Sweet boat.

Lol I’ll tell you man, pricing 20+ year old boats isn’t easy. I bought my 22 year old boat for a “deal” 2 years ago and have put more into the boat than I originally paid. Hindsight, could’ve dropped a little more and probably saved myself money buying a nicer boat out of the gate. If I ever went to sell it, I’d get a bunch of laughing emoji’s at my asking price. Understandably, looking at similar year/model boats.

That said, your boat looks very solid and I think your ask is very fair. Just a bad time to sell a boat in most parts of the country.

Apologies to OP for the side bar, but hopefully this convo helps in your decision. So many variables when buying an older boat.
