Ok, its time for a dash update, i bought this boat new in 1998 and its time , all of my gauges work so no real issues just time for a different look. all of the threads ive found in OSO are 10 plus years old and looking for some current info on whats available out there. It seems like Livorsi, Auto-meter and Gaffrig our the major brands. Im not a brand loyal person but my boat has Gaffrig in it from the factory ( Fountain ) and for 25 years they have always worked and only last year have a few of the gauges started fogging up. Livorsi and auto meter seem to be the big suppliers Livorsi has had some bad comment over the years but i dont see to many if any bad words on Auto-meter and Gaffrig has little to no comments on them. What about shifters any preference and why. I have been looking at the Carbon fiber dashes any issues with them ( cracking , fading , discoloring ) any issues. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance for any comments are suggestion, And lastly who has the best pricing out there.

I've been happy with my Autometer ProComp marine gauges, in white, but they have other colors as well. If you have a military background you can get I think 10-15% discount if you order directly from Autometer.

Autometer uses pretty standard senders for everything except trim. Their trim gauges will not work with the old style mechanical trim senders that mount on the gimbal ring.

I put all these gauges in and didn't have to replace a single sender, as I recall. The old gauges were a hodgepodge of old Faria and Beede and I reused all the senders.

I don’t think you can beat Livorsi for style, customization options and reliability.

Not sure exactly which Gaffrig gauges Fountain used back in 1998.

Gaffrig Precision Instruments labeled gauges became Livorsi
Gaffrig Performance labeled gauges are still Gaffrig
There was a lawsuit over who had the rights to the Gaffrig name and Livorsi lost.

I would go with Livorsi or Autometer.
Both use Deutsche plug connectors now, so it will take a lot of rewiring behind the dash to change from the old post style connections.

When did Autometer change to Deutsch plugs? The batch of gauges in my pic above were purchased in 2022 and had spade connectors. Only exception was the GPS speedometer which had a Molex style plug.

I thought Autometer builds the gauges for Livorsi?

I believe so. The lettering around the perimeter of the gauge face certainly suggests so.
