Default New mercury racing OB?

Are they showing a new R motor at the boat show? I thought I read somewhere that the new MTI 44x was going to have new merc motors on it.

V10s love boost 750 hp should be easy all these big 4 stroke outboards are sorta based on the high end and hp motorcycle engines they copied it for the watercraft and it worked so well its now on most outboard designs they will also take a lot of boost so these engines are just getting started

My guess is they’re taking it slow while they validate the rest of their systems, as in gear cases, etc.

With them being OB’s, now we can mount them on Jack plates and Jack them to the moon!
Surfacing the gear cases will torture them.

There is a company that has been supercharging the V-6 Yammis for yrs and I think are getting low 400’s out of it (at 600lbs) but weak link is gear case.

With 400 hp from 5.7 liters of displacement, I would presume that this is a naturally aspirated engine.

It is and only needs 87 octane (91 RON). Issue with the old 400 Verado's you needed 92-93 octane to get the 400 and that is pretty hard to find on the water in a lot of places. What gets me is these are heavy but nothing compared to the size, the V8 4.6L 450 HP is 689 LBS, the V10 5.7 L is 695LBS.

By comparison the Yamaha 450HP is between 963-1010 LBS!

The other thing I see is the charging circuit, the V10 is saying a 150 amp alternator, I am trying to find out if it has a dual 12V/ 24V system. I know for the Go-fast that would not matter but it would for other aps.
