So I have been looking at boats for several years now, in the next 1-2 months I plan on buying a boat , I have narrowed it down to three options , a nortech 390, fountain 39nx, fountain 38scx. I am looking for some feedback from this community on each boat, I have a large family(6 kids) we will use the boat 70% of the time for pleasure boating , 30% fishing and diving , the most important thing to us is a boat that handles well , won’t beat us to death in 3-4 seas , any help / information would be greatly appreciated

Isn’t the 38 built on the older narrow beam hull?
Thought the NX and Nortech will be wilder beam, they will feel much more roomy.
I have not rode on either. If you are on FB try the Ft Myers. Club they have a lot of CC’s.

If you can deal with the fit and finish not being on the same level the fountain should be significantly less expensive.
a new fountain was delivered here locally last summer, and while it wasn’t quite as nice, a much shorter lead time and cheaper price was hard to ignore.

There is a reason so many 39 Nor Techs are out there and they bring the money that they do. Doug Wright designed that boat and it has been an incredible piece since day one. If money isn't an issue then I think your answer is obvious. I will one day have a 39 or 45 Nor Tech when I grow up.

Hard to beat the fit and finish of a Nortech.....I think how you are going to use the boat makes a big difference on what you buy.....I looked really hard at a new Nortech to replace a 2009 38 Fountain CC that I own....my daughters(ages 20 and 21) were with me.....as soon as we got off the Nortech they both agreed that it was an awesome boat but they pointed out that I can throw 10 people on the Fountain who are partying, spilling beers, etc, or little kids who are crawling all over everything, dropping food, spilling juice, and not be too stressed over it. If I bought the Nortech I would be just as particular about it as my other boat.(at the time was a 44OL).....I am thinking with six kids I would not want to be stressing every time one of them steps on the seats, etc.

The 39 nortech is a home run. From what I have seen it’s the best boat for the money out there.last year at the stl boat show the nortech was considerably less expensive than the fountains. My opinion the nor tech is a no brainer.

What numbers were you seeing? The 38 fountains are relatively affordable I thought.
