Default LSX Tall Deck Engine

Anyone using or seeing a place for the (LSX Tall Deck Engine) in the marine world over a (10.200 Tall Deck) Big Block?

Ole adage no replacement for displacement, but the LSX is built well from a design perspective.
Curious on thoughts or potential benefits others are seeing in the offshore world?

Thank you
Cougarman

Doesn't seem to have caught on, with a SC they put a lot of power out. I think it could be because everyone sticks with the old design BBC since they just don't want to change or just move to OB's.

Yes in the standard height 6.2 there are some nice power if replacing 500-550HP BBC but $$$$$

This thing is cool with direct injection but cost for one you can build tow BBC's.

600 ft lbs at 3000 rpm, not bad for a little motor.

This is the tall deck right?

The LSX is listed for under 20 grand , add another 1200 for closed cooling and another grand for misc to mate to a bravo. Not a bad deal really.

It is not a tall deck. It has the standard production 9.240" deck height.

CPP offers LSX blocks in 9.240" and 9.720" deck.
Dart offers various LS derivation blocks in 9.240", 9.450", and 9.750" deck.

I think we are going to start seeing some cool builds very soon from guys starting with the 8.8L PSI "R" blocks. They have a forged crank, 4.5 stroke. I believe it's a 10.24" deck height. This is the LS big block that GM designed but never actually put into production, now PSI has the rights and is producing it for industrial applications.
